Working with Courtney

I began blogging a little less than a year ago, but I didn’t have much direction or focus in terms of my writing. I could always see the big picture, but I didn’t know how to get there. I was also pretty clueless when it came to the technical side of blogging. In our 1 hour conversation, Courtney outlined a plan with instructions on how to work on taking my blog to a new level. She was very easy to talk with and honest with all of the ideas that I brought up.

After a week of email support, I feel like I have a whole new outlook on blogging. Courtney’s encouragement and direction has really given me the confidence to move forward and make this blog whatever I want it to be. She is an excellent mentor and I don’t think anyone who works with her will be disappointed. It was certainly worth the investment.

I had just made a big change in my life including leaving a business I had built over 12 years behind me.  Courtney not only helped me define the direction clearly and concisely of my new business but she brought together a team of people including herself that created, edited, designed, and implemented my life’s passion, my business and my inspiration in a beautiful website.  Courtney gave me the tools, the people and the help to continue the evolving process as a true team member that is invested in my success.

A few months ago I began to feel unsettled professionally. At the time, I had a successful, rewarding therapy practice and I enjoyed my work very much. But something was missing. I felt restless, like there was more I was supposed to be doing in my work, but I wasn’t sure what.

I found Courtney’s blog, Be More with Less and I loved her message. I began reading through her archived posts and stumbled upon her business services. I hadn’t considered working with someone to resolve the unsettled feeling. But here was a clear invitation. Courtney’s values spoke to me. Help others first, success will follow.

I emailed Courtney and explained that I was interested in her services for my business, but not sure exactly how. Our first phone call was, as Courtney called it, was a “brain dump”. It was disorganized and not so pretty, I hadn’t clarified for myself what I wanted the next step to look like and I certainly hadn’t verbalized it. Courtney took notes, asked questions, made suggestions and at the end, emailed me a coherent and flexible map of what our work together would look like.

From that moment on, I felt supported and encouraged as she helped me clarify my vision and my priorities, both personal and professional. Based on her assessment of my values, goals and priorities, Courtney created a flexible business and marketing plan designed to grow with my business.

Before our work together, I struggled to balance my personal and professional lives. When I was home I was rarely fully present. I worked off and on throughout the day and checked in frequently with email. It was exhausting and unproductive. Courtney taught me to structure my time and focus my energy on the most important things I want to accomplish each day. My personal life and my family have benefited immensely from my work with Courtney. I am more mindful and intentional about how and when I work.

I’ve implemented Courtney’s suggestions for setting a time limit on social media, email and other time wasters. She modeled this approach during our work together and it was inspiring to see how calm and centered she was.

Courtney is an amazing and intuitive coach. I’m thrilled with the results of our work. Though I’m accomplishing more now, I work less. Best of all, my new website, blog and business plan reflect exactly who I am, my priorities, my values and how I want to help others.
