The next session of the Goodblog Project begins on August 20th. I thought about releasing the materials for self-study, but members have expressed that the collaboration with each other, 1:1 calls with me and ongoing email support helped them stick with the course, stay motivated and execute their amazing ideas.
How often have you started a course, or read a personal or business development book? Now, how many times did you implement what you learned? The Goodblog Project will help you turn information and inspiration into hardcore action. Writer and teacher, Beverly Army Williams is a perfect example of how.
Beverly from Open Road Writing
The Goodblog project hasn’t simply helped my blogging efforts; it has changed my entire way of thinking about my life.
I signed up for the course because I had this little side business that I didn’t take too seriously, and I wanted to turn it into something that, maybe, could become the way I live. I had been feeling a little anxious about posting writing prompts—they weren’t turning into readership or anything productive for my business, but I didn’t know what else to post in a world glutted with blogs about writing. Now I have narrowed Open Road Writing‘s focus to the work I most want to do, most enjoy, and while I’m still willing to do business and technical writing consulting, I’m not cluttering my website with the things that are less important to me.
By completing the exercises and the questions from my first Goodblog Project phone call, I had a real epiphany about what ORW’s mission is. Knowing that, along with brainstorming with Courtney, helped me to create the Road Trip Project, which I hope will help readers build trust in me and what I do while letting me show the quality of my work. I’ve never been a “quick fix” person, and Courtney’s approach (to pretty much everything!) appeals to me because we share that belief…and she’s excellent at articulating how to navigate the slower, sustainable fixes.
The 1:1 phone calls were the most critical part of the project for me.
This course was fantastic. It helped me to shift my thinking in meaningful ways, and I’m so, so appreciative. I felt it was an excellent value and so worthwhile to participate in this.

It’s great to hear about the clarity and focus that Beverly received by doing the course. What an inspiration! Good luck to you, Beverly.
