Simplicity offers a variety of benefits.
Living with less clutter and stuff will give you more space. Slowing down and becoming less busy will give you more time.
Living without the following things will allow you to love yourself again.
Let Go Of These 5 Things So You Can Love Yourself Again
1. Worrying about what other people think.
What they think has nothing to do with you and everything to do with them. Usually it’s not what people say, but what we think they will say or think that keeps us doing what we think is expected of us, attempting to be good and loved instead of living and acting in a way that works best for us. Worry less about what others think and remember that just because something is expected of you doesn’t mean it is for you.
2. Over-apologizing.
Pay attention to how many times you say sorry in a day. A heartfelt “I’m sorry” is powerful. A meaningful apology can repair a relationship or turn us around when we are going in the wrong direction. Let’s not waste it on things we shouldn’t be sorry for, like these 8 things.
3. Believing everything you think.
Our thoughts are just thoughts. Some are true and real and some aren’t. When we cling too tightly to believing everything we think, we distance ourself from the truth. Questioning the truth of my thoughts has prevented me from over reacting in some situations and helped me let go of other things more easily. Here’s simple example. When I think I need something “just in case,” I question that thought and realize I don’t need it at all.
4. Goals you’ve outgrown.
Letting go of goals and dreams can be the most challenging of all. As our lives change, we change, and things that seemed so important years ago may slowly fade away. Instead of beating yourself up for not achieving your old goals, focus on your new dreams and develop goals or bucket lists that reflect who you are right now.
5. Comparing yourself to others.
Someone else will always have more or less than you. There will always be someone who is better or worse at what you do. When you decide how you feel about yourself or what you have based on others and what they have or do, you can never fully appreciate all of the extraordinary blessings in your own life. The antidote to comparison is gratitude.
All five of these things stand in the way of connecting with your heart.
Let go and love yourself again.
