Maybe it’s time to put an end to playing “catch up” because we always lose that game. Today, before I emptied the dishwasher and the washing machine, and attempted to empty my inbox, I reminded myself that if catching up worked, I’d be caught up by now. What’s the hurry and what do I win by being all caught up?
I used to spend weekends catching up for the week, spending extra time working, skimping on sleep only to have to rinse and repeat the following weekend. If you thought that maybe you’d use quarantine to catch up, consider that you are juggling even more than you were before. Just because you are home doesn’t mean you are home on a regular weekend. You’ve got more on your mind and your heart. Don’t overload your schedule in an attempt to catch up.
