Weekend Wisdom: Feeling guilty for taking care of yourself is not taking care of yourself.
With my new book coming out in a few short weeks, I’m starting to feel all the feelings. I’m happy and excited and also nervous and anxious (all at once). My friend Leo calls this jumbled up group of feelings … JOYFEAR.
Leo says, “Having only joy is great. Having only fear sucks. But having both … that’s life-defining.” You can read more about it here. When my joyfear is leaning more towards fear and less towards joy, I simply take a big deep breath in through my nose and let it out with a big sigh through my mouth and let it pass through me, and out of me. It doesn’t always work the first time, but eventually I come back to calm.
Ok … onto the favorites.
