Weekend Wisdom: When you are overwhelmed, tired and stressed, the solution is almost always … less. Get rid of something, lots of somethings.
I usually get dressed for work even when I know I’m working from home for the day. Most of the time I sit or stand at my kitchen island. One day last week though, instead of getting dressed, dressed, I threw on some sweatpants and decided to work on the couch. My cat Wilbur approved of my new office space and work attire.
Wilbur is 14 years old and my husband and I often half joke that it’s a good thing we adopted him (and our other pets who have since passed on) before we decided to simplify our lives. Pets definitely add a special layer of complexity to our lives but when I think of all the cuddling and love, it seems like a good trade to me. It’s been almost five years since we said goodbye to Guinness and almost a year since our cat Ella died and I still miss them both.
