Weekend Wisdom: When you are engaged in the things that light you up, it’s easier to let go of the things that don’t.
I’m trying something new.
I am the queen of monotony. I thrive in routine and enjoy doing the same things over and over again. The last few months though have put even me to the test. I don’t mind staying home but I’ve been craving something new or different.
Instead of buying something new or going somewhere new, I added a new habit to my morning routine … cold showers.
For the last week, my morning routine has looked like this:
- wake up
- cold shower (only 30-45 seconds for now)
It’s too soon to rave about benefits of cold showers but I can tell you that even after only 30 seconds, I am WIDE AWAKE. It feels like a double espresso without the lingering caffeine jitters.
Ok … onto the favorites:
No more doomscrolling ok?
Currently listening to More Than Enough by Elaine Welteroth
Because of my love for monotony, sometimes I get stuck in a music rut, listening to the same things over and over again. Today, I’m letting Spotify pick my music. Here’s what they came up with.
I enjoyed this little yoga practice.
Finally reading Where The Crawdads Sing and I never want it to end.
I’m not traveling but when I do, I’d like to stay at this 5 million star hotel.
The smell of space. Seriously?
I want to make this and drink it with ice every morning.

Try this instead of lashing out the next time you feel offended.
And my Instagram fav of the week is from @mytherapistsays because this made me laugh! I love going to bed early (but not this early).
I hope you enjoy this edition of Weekend Favorites and have a beautiful, safe, healthy, loving weekend.
P.S. Something good is coming your way this fall.
