Nature isn’t canceled.
My nephew is graduating from high school today! Even though he won’t be getting the pomp and circumstance he deserves, we’ll all be celebrating him virtually along with many other graduates. Congrats Axel, I love you!
So many events and meaningful moments have been canceled or put on pause and it’s sad. It hurts. We grieve. And we go on. We mourn what we’ve lost and turn to what we have. We embrace and celebrate what’s not canceled.
Nature is not canceled, including beautiful flowers, sunsets, and hummingbirds. We set up our hummingbird feeder recently (in the middle of the city) and the hummingbirds came back. It felt miraculous.
Connection is not canceled. We can talk on the phone, on video calls, and through love notes.
Simplicity is not canceled. If anything the call for simplicity is greater than ever. We know what matters now and we want more of that, which means less of all the other stuff.
And love … love is never canceled.
