My favorite weekend plans are no plans.
A little weekend wisdom for you … Simplicity doesn’t change who you are, it brings you back to who you are.
I’m not really into Halloween. I don’t have anything against it, but I’m more of an autumn (falling leaves, pumpkins, mums and apple cider) celebrator. I don’t mind if you enjoy it and like dressing up and doing halloween-ish things, but for me, it’s just another beautiful fall day with zombies and princesses walking around the city.
I do however get overly excited about watching the same holiday movies over and over again (kind of like my breakfast from last week). I watch this one and this one and this one every year (sometimes more than once). I never watch them on airplanes though because they all make me cry.
P.S. I asked my daughter if you’d like me less because I’ve admitted I don’t get excited about Halloween and she said, “it is your one big downfall” (because she loves halloween). If it helps, know that I still hand out treats for those who are more excited than I am about this holiday.
Ok … onto the favorites.
I’ve been telling you that multi-tasking is a lie and now a neuroscientist agrees.
You are not wrong-hearted.
I usually slow down and do some extra relaxing this time of year but so many amazing things are happening, so I need to be extra energetic. This is the playlist that’s helping.
If you’ve ever said mean things to yourself (that you would never say to another person), this video will help next time you do. It will also make you laugh and cry and empower you to do anything you want to do.
Last year I shared this holiday roadmap for more comfort and joy.
So often we think that simplicity can’t happen in business or the workplace, but I’m happy to tell you that it can. If you are tight on time, start listening at 20:18 where I answer the question, “How do we simplify our work lives when we are in a position that is demanding?”
I love words. Especially cozy ones.
And my Instagram fav of the week goes to @nourishedplanner for this timely reminder for the holiday season.
I hope you enjoy this edition of Weekend Favorites and have a beautiful weekend.
