Weekend wisdom: Our homes are are not containers for stuff but instead a place for love and connection. Let’s make room for more of that.
I had the great pleasure of reconnecting with my friend, Brooke McAlary this week. I interviewed her for a Simplicity Conversation (one of the offerings in The Simplicity Space membership). We talked about caring about the world without losing ourselves to overwhelm and how to take care in more meaningful ways. It’s the topic of her latest book, Care and something we are all a little desperate for right now. Brooke says, “Caring doesn’t need to cost us. That simply by spending more time in nature, putting down our devices and connecting with each other face-to-face, finding awe and wonder in the world around us and remembering how to play, we can create ripples that reach far beyond our own corner of the planet. We only need to cast our eyes forward and start small, with care.”
