Weekend wisdom: Create more pockets (even little ones) of quiet. Give your own voice a chance to show up for you.
I’m beauty hunting.
I’ve been beauty hunting. As author, Jen Pastiloff describes it, Beauty Hunting is the intentional act of finding beauty in simple, every day things. Jen also suggest Beauty Hunting with people. “Imagine you are going to give a note to each person you talk to with the 5 most beautiful things about them. It will shift the way you engage with people. You won’t be looking for what annoys you. This is not to say that people will cease to annoy you. But still. Do your best to find what is beautiful.” Jen was the first person we interviewed for The Soul & Wit Podcast! You can listen here to learn more about her, Beauty Hunting and her first book.
It’s important to note that we can find beauty in the midst of pain, frustration and darkness too. It doesn’t dismiss the pain but reminds us that it’s all happening at the same time. Beauty and pain exist together. I find the beauty everywhere, whether I’m walking in the mountains, foothills, at the park, in my own neighborhood (see flowers above) for an early morning stroll or spending time with friends.
