Stuck in a rut? Start over!

Are you stuck in a job you don’t like? Stuck in a relationship that was over years ago? Maybe it’s being stuck in a home that you can’t afford, or a body that you haven’t taken care of? The easiest way to remedy most of these situations might be to completely start over. Imagine what it would be like to start with a blank slate.
While we often think that things would be better if we started over, we wouldn’t have the knowledge of our hard learned lessons. We wouldn’t understand the joy of success or the disappointment when we realized we’d made a bad choice. In some ways, starting over sounds like a dream, but aren’t the adventures that made us who we are today, worth having experienced?
Wherever we are in life, we have the choice to start again, and to relearn some of our behaviors, actions and attitudes. I did start a new gmail and twitter account today for bemorewithless.com and the emptiness is refreshing. Starting with a blank slate is exhilarating. The potential to be more with less excites me. The opportunity to make change gives me great hope that in time, I will be more with less.
Becoming more with less won’t be as easy as starting a new email account, but if broken down into small, manageable steps, big change and big reward is possible.
Instead of starting over, I recommend starting again.

Excellent post–just what I needed to read this afternoon! Yes, a blank slate is exhilarating; it’s like a canvas that we can paint anything on that we want. And really, isn’t that all we ever have? A new day every day and a chance to do something different.
I know what you mean about a new empty email account too lol
Maybe someday I’ll keep mine nice and neat!
Thanks Leah. I am really starting to see how less clutter and distraction makes for endless possibility when it comes to recognizing what’s important. Have a great day! -Courtney
ooh. a blank slate. I could definitely go for that right now! I’m completely burned out at work. It’s not that I don’t love my job, because most days I really do. It’s more that I don’t have time to do the things that I love. I’ve always wanted to make a wonderful home, but I’m too darn exhausted to make that happen after a long day at work. I want to document our lives, but I’m avoiding it because I don’t really want to remember life right now. I think it’s time to change my perspective. Maybe a good long nap and a relaxed walk around the neighborhood will help me get my head on straight and back to being productive! Thanks for posting this. I needed it.
Kristin,
Thanks for your comments. I know EXACTLY how you feel right now! A nap and walk are great places to start and always help me, but now I am thinking in terms of reinventing so that I can do and be all the things I want to be.
Take Care,
Courtney
I found that deleting all those websites from your bookmarks is a really good feeling. And the app situation just gets out of hand. There is even a new app that tells you how to add more than 9 pages to your iTouch or iPhone. So thanks for the “freeing thoughts”. I’m waiting for more.
Thanks for the comment. More less on the way!
