After more than 4 years, Be More with Less has a new design. I’ve made minor tweaks and changes to the website over the years, but this is it’s first official redesign. I wanted to remove everything that distracted from the content, and create a space that made for an enjoyable reading experience.
For me that means …
- no pop up offers or requests
- no bribery where I give you something free if you give me your email address
- no fluff
- font styles that are easy on the eyes
- calm, simple, inviting space
Come on over for the celebration.
If you are reading this post via email or in a feed reader, come on over by clicking this link. Things have changed over here, and I’d love your feedback and a chance to celebrate the new design with you.
If you really like the fonts or overall reading experience better than what you get in email, you can always click on the post title in your email and it will bring you right here.
I’m so happy to celebrate the new design with my favorite people (YOU), and to introduce you to who made it all possible. Brian Gardner made this site look and work like it does. He asked me what was important in the redesign and I told him your experience here was what was most important. I asked him to make it easy and enjoyable to read and also easy to stay in touch and connect. And … that’s it.
A little tour of the new site …
New header design
My friend Heidi designed my original header and I love it as much today as the day she showed it to me four years ago. I kept her original design, but changed it to a black and white image and dropped the tagline. Be More with Less says it all.
Start Here
The About page became a Start Here page. After 4+ years of weekly blog posts, the archives can be overwhelming. The new page offers easy ways to connect, and shares more on the Be More with Less mission and a few favorite posts.
Photography
When I first started blogging, I used stock images of smiling people because other bloggers told me those were most successful. The only problem was they didn’t feel like me. Now I’m using my own photography for each blog post and adding a quote or simple idea. You are welcome to use and share these images anyway you’d like. A few times a year, I’ll do an image-only post for extra inspiration like this.
New share and social media buttons
At the top of the site you’ll see social media icons. Click those to connect with me on any of the platforms where you already spend time. I know social media isn’t for everyone, but if you’re there and I’m there, I’d love to say hi.
At the bottom of each post, you’ll find buttons that make it easy for sharing on your favorite platforms.
Speaking
I added a speaking page. It’s not finished, but as something that really lights me up, I wanted to let you know that I’m available and interested. This blog may be the heart and soul of my microbusiness, but connecting in person is a whole new level of love and light.
Books and courses
You’ll find a list of books and courses on this page. I’m happy to announce that my 3 microcourses are all available in Kindle format now. You can see them on my author page.
Please subscribe
At the bottom of each post, you’ll find an invitation to subscribe for inbox inspiration a.k.a. future blog updates. If you want to simplify your life, live with more purpose, and create work you love, I can help.
You can wait for updates via social media or drop in anytime, but the most reliable way to get current blog posts is to subscribe in that little box at the end of today’s post. If you are already an email subscriber, you don’t need to subscribe again.
Party favors
What’s a party without favors? I don’t have fancy hats, horns, or even cake, because you know how I feel about clutter and cake. Ok, I like cake, but I’m keeping it all for myself. Instead I have a few gifts that won’t take any room at all. (in your home or your belly)
- Brian Gardner was inspired while creating the new look we are celebrating, and designed a minimalist WordPress theme for you. If you are a blogger and would like a clean, simple look, go get this free, beautiful, Minimalist Theme.
- Party favor #2 is a free book. I recently updated my first book, Simple Ways to Be More with Less and it’s yours for free until the end of the week. Here it is.
