Weekend Wisdom: Sometimes self-care is canceling plans, saying no or changing your mind without apology or lengthy explanation.
My very favorite thing is sleep.
I had a bad night of sleep earlier this week which reminded me how much I love to sleep. I am a better human after 7-8 hours of sleep. Sleep routines and habits are different for everyone and different for each of us over time. Things I use to encourage sleep sometimes include an essential oil diffuser with this scent, playing ambient noise or Sleep Drops from Plant People.
Things I do all the time to encourage better sleep …
- No alcohol (ever).
- No news or caffeine after 3:00 pm (usually not after noon).
- Get in bed sometime between 8:30 – 9:00 pm (yep, even on the weekend).
- Keep the bedroom clutter-free.
- Sleep in a cool, dark room.
- Use a humidifier (I live in Utah).
I hope you sleep well tonight!
