Weekend Wisdom: If you want to feel light, you have to let go.
Always prioritizing the light.
In the last Weekend Favorites, we talked about how important light is to me (and most of us) in all of it’s different forms. To demonstrate just how important, I’ve left my holiday lights up to get us through the darker months with extra light.
And! I found the original list we made when we were looking for our house in late 2020. When we were looking for our new home back in late 2020, we had a list of needs and wants. We didn’t know if we’d find a house or apartment but we knew what we were looking for. I just found the list!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Needs
1. Light
2. Outdoor space
3. Central air
4. 2 bed, 2 bath
5. Tub
6. Garage
7. Single floor living
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Want
1. Fireplace
2. Open layout
3. No Carpet
4. White counters
Our house met almost everything on the list with exception of garage, fireplace, and white counters. And now, I love it just the way it is. Light was first on our list and it’s what we enjoy most. We didn’t care about closet space or extra square footage. Storage space didn’t matter. In one of the wildest real estate markets, during one of the wildest times, I”m glad we were clear and patient. We found the light and space. We found our home.
