Weekend Wisdom: Instead of pushing through, try easing through.
Blooms.

This week has been full of sunshine and peonies. Other fun things: Bailey and I chatted with author, Annabel Monaghan for an upcoming episode of the Soul & Wit Podcast. She was warm and funny and so smart. I can’t wait for her new book, Summer Romance to be released soon. It’s a romantic and hilarious story of a professional organizer whose life is a mess, and the summer she gets unstuck with the help of someone unexpected from her past.

Story Time: The problem with being too busy …
I wrote about my busy addiction in depth here. I was really burnt out at work and thinking there must be something better out there, but I didn’t know what I wanted to do instead, or how I wanted to spend my time because I was too busy to think straight. Busyness wasn’t helping me get ahead. It was holding me back.
If you are lost in deadlines and distractions or a demanding boss and lack of boundaries, you may be struggling with how busy you are. This is the time to check in and decide if you are thriving in your busyness or hiding in it. As Sara Kuburic says, “Always being busy has become an admirable way for people to avoid themselves.”
We know the obvious downsides to always being busy. Things like overwhelm, exhaustion and burnout, but what about all of those heart callings we miss? My heart was calling for something different, but I didn’t have any attention left to listen. When was the last time you just sat still and thought, “Ok heart, what do you want?” Maybe now is a good time.
