Weekend wisdom: Get lost in what you care about. That’s where you’ll find everything.
On the move.
A little over a year ago, I held a virtual day long workshop where I was sitting in front of my computer all day long. My body was so sore from not moving that I started looking for ways to move more throughout the day. Even though I was taking walks and standing while I worked sometimes, it wasn’t enough. My body (and brain) craved more movement.
I decided to invest in a walking pad so I could walk while I worked. I haven’t shared too much about it but now that’s it’s been more than a year, I can confidently say that this was a good decision (for me) in so many ways. I’m walking 5-8 miles a day consistently and the movement not only makes my body feel better but it helps me feel more creative. I thought I’d be folding it up and moving it around but it’s rare that I don’t want to walk while I work so the picture above is my daily work set-up. I can read and work while walking without any problem but it’s hard to put pen to paper while in motion. If I need a change of venue, I’ll go to a coffee shop or co-working space.

Today’s Instagram favorite is from @therapyforwomen because this is an easy, effective boundary to practice when you are sharing things and don’t want other people’s advice or opinions.
I hope you enjoy this edition of Weekend Favorites and have a lovely, restorative, gentle weekend.
