Weekend wisdom: It can’t all matter at the same time.
This makes a lot of sense to me.
I spotted this shirt in an Asheville boutique and it made me lol. No, I didn’t buy it (did you even have to ask?). I did think about the shirt’s words all day though. Why do we spend so much time “getting things under control” or “make sure everything is under control” or “getting control of ourselves” or berating ourselves for having “no self-control” when actually … nothing is under control.
I remember hearing someone say that we can do things for love or do them for control, but not both.
Thinking out loud … What if we did things for love, for health, for fun and for the sake of curiosity instead of control? What would happen if we let go of the illusion of control and simply got on with our days?
Ok … onto the favorites.

Today’s Instagram favorite is from @theskimm. If there is a nurse or teacher in your life, send them some love. They do so much for much for us. It’s time to start over appreciating to make up for all that under appreciating. If you are a nurse or a teacher, thank you, thank you, thank you. I’m very grateful for the work you do in this world.
I hope you enjoy this edition of Weekend Favorites and have a lovely, restorative, gentle weekend.
xo,
Courtney
