If you want to be more present, better connect with people you love and enjoy your life, these gentle reminders will help. Being present isn’t something you perfect, it’s a practice.
Being more present is something you’ll come back to over and over again. Once you begin to prioritize presence, you’ll notice that you are less distracted and that showing up for your life feels more natural.
7 Gentle Reminders to Help You Be More Present
1.
We always want to know … What’s the next thing? The next event, the next appointment, the next to-do, the next project. But what about this thing? What would happen if we built in more time and attention to enjoy this thing, this moment?
There might be fewer next things but imagine how much better they’ll be. And how you’ll feel with a few extra minutes to breathe or nap or reflect or laugh or to do abso-freakin-lutely nothing for a minute.
2.
When all that stuff is gone, it will be easier to show up.
3.
This seems so obvious but we forget. We get busy. We are distracted. We do the shoulds and the have tos and the musts all the while forgetting that this is the way we are choosing to spend time, and to live our lives. How do you want to spend your life? Make time to do that.
4.
Put your hands on your heart. Check in. Come back to yourself.
5.
6.
Catching up is overrated. Use your free time to be free.
7.
Underneath the excess and the extra, the busyness and the chaos, your life is waiting.
Use these reminders to help you eliminate distraction, come back from the past or the future and be more present.
This moment is all we are guaranteed. Be here for it.
