Weekend Wisdom: Boundaries are how we show each other who we are.
Change is in the air.
It may be awhile before the snow falls but I can feel change in the air. Soon the temperature will change, the leaves will change and my energy will change. It’s all an invitation to practice accepting change and even inviting it.
Many of us are uncomfortable with change but I’ve learned (over and over again), that the pain of change usually doesn’t come from actual change, it comes from resisting it. The next time you are struggling with change, ask yourself if you are accepting or resisting.
Accepting doesn’t mean, “I agree. This is great.” It means, “I understand this is happening and now I have to consider how to adjust.” You may not like snow but you adjust before winter and get out the snow shovel and your favorite scarf. You can do the same thing with almost any change if you are willing to accept it.
Experiment and see how it feels. The next time you are facing a change, accept it and choose your shift or adjustment.
